The spec you get to set yourself

On most spec sheets, volatility is a fixed line that the studio fills in. Wazdan hands that line to the player. Its Volatility Levels feature puts three settings into a single game, and that one decision accounts for most of what makes the studio stand out. Combine it with Hold the Jackpot, a series that gives the familiar hold-and-win format one consistent look, and Wazdan becomes easy to spot.

SlotSpecs does not list any Wazdan titles yet. Our demo network holds 373 of them.

Low, standard or high: how the setting works

Wazdan unveiled the feature at ICE in 2018. The three options, as the studio describes them:

LevelWazdan’s description
HighBigger wins that arrive less often
StandardWin size and frequency kept in balance
LowSmaller wins that arrive more often

The reason this stands out is that volatility is normally locked in at design stage. Here the same symbols and theme can behave quite differently depending on the level, so each Wazdan game is in effect three games in one.

In 2021 the studio widened the feature so that casino managers could pick a default level for their players. Wazdan said at that point that no other supplier offered games with three volatility levels, and Andrzej Hyla, its chief commercial officer, framed the update as extra value for operators.

One gap: Wazdan’s material does not state whether switching level alters a game’s RTP, so we do not claim that it does. If a game page shows an RTP, check it under each setting.

The Hold the Jackpot series

Launched in 2021, Hold the Jackpot is Wazdan’s take on hold-and-win. The basic format works like this: special symbols stick in place, respins keep going as long as fresh ones appear, and jackpot tiers sit at the top of the ladder. Because Wazdan presents it as one branded series, the games share a structure you will recognise from title to title.

More trademarked features

Wazdan also lists a set of other trademarked features:

  • Chance Level, added in 2023.
  • Collect to Infinity, a mechanic built around collecting.
  • Jackpot Rain, a promotional tool for operators.
  • Mystery Drop, a promotional tool that picked up an industry award in 2023.
  • Ultra Fast mode, for quicker spins.

The history page does not give full rules for each of these, so we name them without explaining mechanics we have not been able to confirm.

Five milestones since 2010

Wazdan’s history page gives 2010 as its founding year, which is also when it obtained its Malta Gaming Authority licence, published as MGA/B2B/206/2011. The office is on Dragonara Road, St Julian’s, Malta, and the Group CEO is Michał Imiołek.

  • 2015: the catalogue switched to HTML5 and reached 50 games.
  • 2018: a UK Gambling Commission licence arrived, along with Volatility Levels.
  • 2021: Wazdan entered the US market and started the Hold the Jackpot series.
  • 2023: Chance Level and the Jackpot Rain promotional tool were introduced, and Mystery Drop won an award.
  • 2025: the studio moved into Brazil, went past 300 titles and launched its Burning Board line.

Outside Malta and the UK, Wazdan reports approvals in Ontario, New Jersey, Michigan and West Virginia, as well as in Denmark, Sweden, Greece and Romania, among over 30 jurisdictions in total.

The limits of what we know on RTP

Volatility Levels aside, we have found no Wazdan document stating how many RTP versions it provides. When its games are added to SlotSpecs, every page will give the verified RTP together with the volatility setting the figures were taken from.

Who should try Wazdan

Wazdan is a natural choice if you like controlling how a game behaves, for instance learning it on Low before moving up to High. Hold-and-win fans who value a consistent series format will also feel at home. It is not the studio to pick for big cascading grid slots, which are not part of its identity.

Wazdan weighed up

On the plus side

  • Volatility Levels offer low, standard and high in a single game.
  • A published licence reference and a detailed company timeline.
  • Hold the Jackpot is a series you can recognise at a glance.

On the minus side

  • The sources we found do not document how each volatility setting affects RTP.
  • No Wazdan games are on SlotSpecs so far.
