An amusement hall, not a boutique

KA Gaming works at scale and gives arcade titles the same weight as slots. Hundreds of slots sit next to an unusually deep range of fish-shooting games, along with crash, arcade and table releases. The overall effect is closer to an amusement arcade than to a small, curated slot studio. Players who like plenty of variety will be at home. Players who want a short list of clearly distinct games will be less so.

Our demo network carries 899 KA Gaming titles, placing it among the biggest libraries of any studio on that network. As none of them has yet received full verified specs and a written review on SlotSpecs, this profile looks at the studio overall.

The RTP dial: 82% to 98%

Few studios we cover state their RTP model this plainly. According to KA Gaming’s website, operators may set the return at any of nine selectable levels spanning 82% to 98%. In 2024, iGaming Business reported that the studio’s popular games averaged roughly 96% RTP, with RTP and volatility both configurable across the range.

The practical consequence is bigger than it looks. One KA Gaming title can exist in very different forms depending on the chosen level. Before you compare two KA games, confirm which RTP each version actually runs. At 82% and at 98%, the same game delivers sharply different long-run returns. Every game page on SlotSpecs lists the figures we have checked for the demo build we carry.

What the library is made of

The studio’s own figures show how far its mix strays from a typical slot developer. Its website lists 1,019 in-house games, split as follows:

TypeCount published by KA Gaming
Slots816
Fish shooters122
Arcade44
Table26
Crash11

A fish shooter is an arcade-style game where you fire at targets that move across the screen. Reporting on the studio’s launch on the Hub88 aggregation platform, iGaming Business singled out fish-shooting titles including King Octopus and Space Cat.

Output has also accelerated. iGaming Business put the 2024 release rate at 10 to 14 new games each month, and the website now talks of six new games every second Wednesday. Our count of 899 sits below the studio’s total because we include only what our demo provider offers.

The slot toolkit

KA Gaming’s slots span classic paylines, ways-to-win and cluster pays. Two mechanics carry the studio’s own trademark:

  • Lock 2 Spin, developed and trademarked in-house.
  • Fusion Reels, its other trademarked in-house mechanic.

Bonus types on the studio’s site fall into seven groups: jackpots, wheel bonuses, skill bonuses, multiplayer modes, buy features, bonus games and free spins. The skill bonuses are another sign of the arcade influence. Trade coverage has named older titles such as Luck88, Cocorico and Golden Ball.

Name, licences and open questions

The studio’s iGaming Business directory entry explains the name: KA means "Kick Ass", and the slogan casts KA Gaming as a maker of games "from Asia to World". The same publication has described it as one of the most successful development studios in Asia.

Its founding date is disputed. A January 2024 iGaming Business article says the studio has been making games since 2016, while an October 2024 article from the same outlet says it was set up in 2017. KA Gaming’s website gives neither a date nor a head-office address, and we found no named parent company. Rather than choose between conflicting claims, we have left founding year, headquarters and parent empty.

The website does carry a regulatory overview. It states licensing across 16 iGaming jurisdictions, among them the UK (UKGC), Malta (MGA), Gibraltar, Curaçao, Brazil and the Philippines (PAGCOR), and names GLI, BMM Testlabs and eCOGRA as third-party certifiers.

Best suited to

  • Arcade enthusiasts: fish shooters and skill bonuses are rare in mainstream slot libraries.
  • Browsers who prefer sampling lots of themes fast over mastering a few games.
  • Players interested in Asian-market design, which the catalogue leans towards.

If you want a handful of clear flagship franchises, the sheer size of the library may be hard to find your way around.

KA Gaming on balance

On the plus side

  • A truly varied library, with arcade, crash and table games next to slots.
  • An openly stated RTP range and named testing labs.
  • Its own trademarked mechanics, Fusion Reels and Lock 2 Spin, bring some order to a huge catalogue.

On the minus side

  • Core facts such as founding year and head office are not published consistently.
  • With nine RTP levels, specs can vary widely between versions of one game.
