Who we are and how SlotSpecs works

Open any game on SlotSpecs and the first thing you see is a spec sheet: return to player (RTP), volatility, maximum win, reel layout and features. SlotSpecs is an independent database of free-to-play slots, crash games and table games for adults, and every title runs in demo mode on virtual coins.

The site exists because too many game listings hide those numbers behind marketing copy, or skip them altogether. Our policy fits in two lines. A figure the studio publishes appears on the page with a link to its source. A figure the studio does not publish appears as a dash, because we do not guess.

The numbers come first

Research for a review begins with what the studio itself puts out: the official game page, the rules and paytable inside the game, and published maths such as RTP settings and the maximum win. Those figures are then cross-checked with at least one further reputable published source. When different versions of a game carry different settings, the review says so and points you to the place in the game where you can confirm which one you are on.

Next, the editor plays the demo to describe the rules in action: how a feature is triggered, how multipliers grow and how clearly the screen reports what is going on. A brief demo run says nothing reliable about RTP, so it is never offered as proof of how often a game pays. RTP and volatility are properties of the design measured across an enormous number of rounds. They are not a forecast for your next session.

No review is assembled from stock paragraphs. Each one is written for its own game, with headings picked for what matters in that title.

The two editors behind the data

James Cooper is the data editor. Slot maths, RTP, volatility and studio design sit with James, whose task is to translate paytables and rules sheets into plain English without dressing long-run figures up as promises.

Rachel Wright is the games editor, responsible for new releases, crash and instant games, and table games. Rachel’s reviews focus on how a game feels in play: the controls, the rhythm of a round and how the bonus features connect.

Each review, studio profile, guide and news story names the editor who owns it, shows the date of its latest update and lists the sources behind it.

Spec Score and the monthly lists

The Spec Score runs to 100 points across four parts: RTP is worth 25, win potential 20, feature depth 15 and the editor’s assessment 40. Published data drives the first three. An overall score appears only when all four parts are complete.

Before that point, our monthly lists rank games by free demo plays across the sites that draw on the same demo catalogue as SlotSpecs. No game enters a list until its specs have been verified. How we rank games sets out the full method.

Virtual coins and nothing else

SlotSpecs exists for free entertainment and comparison. You will find no cashier here, no coin shop and no exchange. Virtual coins are a play balance held in your profile. They come from the daily bonus and from levelling up, and they are worth nothing anywhere else.

No one pays us for a review or a ranking slot, and no studio can buy its way to a better score.

Found a figure that looks wrong?

Use the contact page to tell us the game, the detail in question and where you saw the correct value. We go back to the studio’s information, fix every page that carries that figure and record the update date on the review.

SlotSpecs is for adults aged 18 and over. Free play is not gambling, yet habits can still take hold, which is why the responsible play page sets out practical session tips and independent support services.
