A studio that borrows from video games

Plenty of Evoplay’s catalogue would not look out of place on a games console. Next to its slots you will find 3D titles, a runner, a racing title and a shooter played in third person, plus a solid line of instant games with a sports theme. Not all of these experiments land equally well, but few studios gamble on new formats as often. For anyone tired of spinning reels, it is a studio worth keeping an eye on.

SlotSpecs does not list any Evoplay titles at present. The demo network we draw on has 292 of them.

Penalty Shoot-out and other sports instants

The studio’s most enduring series lives among its instant games. In Penalty Shoot-out you take shots at a football goal. By early 2025 the series had grown to three games, with European Gaming reporting that Penalty Shoot-out: Super Cup merged elements of the first two. The format later reached reels in Penalty Shoot-Out: Super Spin.

February 2024 took the idea onto ice with Hockey Shootout. As iGaming Business describes it, you select a country and a stake, then decide where between the posts to aim. Every goal triggers a bonus, and the top multiplier goes to five consecutive goals.

This is the clearest expression of Evoplay’s instant style: quick rounds, a real decision on every shot, and results presented as a sporting moment instead of a line of symbols.

Console-style titles on the roster

The studio’s about page highlights games that break from usual slot design:

  • Necromancer, which Evoplay bills as the first 3D/VR slot for the mass market.
  • Adrenaline Rush, presented as an industry-first 3D racing game and the studio’s lead release for 2024.
  • Goblin Run, a runner in 3D.
  • Star Guardians, described as the first third-person shooter in the industry to use manual control.
  • Dungeon: Immortal Evil, a slot in 3D that takes its cues from role-playing games.

Evoplay also points to Spinential, its in-house engine, which it says is designed to load quickly. Every "first" on that list is the studio’s own claim, and we present it that way. Taken together, they reveal an obvious goal: games that play more like an arcade cabinet or console than a fruit machine.

Classic reels still in the mix

The experiments sit alongside conventional games. December 2024 saw the release of Hot Triple Sevens Hold and Win, an entry in the studio’s flaming sevens line. It runs on a familiar 5×3 grid with a light board that keeps track of wins. Landing six or more Bonus symbols starts the bonus game, which carries four jackpot tiers capped at 3,000x the bet. Hot Bonus symbols hold values that can step up into jackpot tiers, and there is also a free spins mode with wins tripled, plus a bonus buy.

Classic sevens at one end, 3D shooters at the other: that breadth is what defines Evoplay.

The company in brief

Evoplay’s about page puts its founding in 2017, with offices in Limassol, Cyprus, and Warsaw, Poland. The chief executive is Ivan Kravchuk. Credentials on the page: certification to ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, GCB certification, Italian market certification and a recognition letter from Malta. Product lines cover slots and instant games, table and classic games, plus bingo and lottery. The studio claims over 45 industry awards, with categories that include slot provider of the year, mobile innovation and game design.

What we can and cannot say about the maths

No Evoplay document we have found explains how many RTP versions the studio offers or describes a typical volatility profile, so we hold back from general statements. Bear in mind too that instant games are not slots: their return comes from the rules of each round, not from reel strips. As Evoplay games are added to SlotSpecs, each page will carry its own verified figures.

A fit for which players?

Evoplay is a good match for players wanting a change from reels, and for sports fans who enjoy brief rounds built on choices. It also appeals to anyone interested in how close slot-style games can get to console play. If you prefer a single, consistent style across a studio’s games, the spread here may feel too broad.

For and against

For

  • Daring format experiments, among them 3D racing and shooter-style titles.
  • Penalty Shoot-out, an established sports instant series.
  • Security certifications on record (ISO 27001 and ISO 27701).

Against

  • A number of "industry-first" claims rest only on the studio’s word.
  • SlotSpecs does not list any of its games yet.
