Information we hold, and when

Browsing without a profile. Your 18+ confirmation, your cookie decision and a guest profile holding your virtual coins, favourites and ratings stay in your own browser. None of it reaches us.

Signing up for a free profile. We hold the email address, password and player name you choose, with the password kept only as a secure hash. We also hold a record of what you do there: the virtual coins, level and badges on your profile, your favourites and ratings, plus the games you launch and the leaderboard points each one brings in. The public monthly leaderboard shows your player name, level, points and badges. Your email address is never displayed.

Writing to us. To reply, we keep your name, email address, chosen topic and message.

Subscribing to the newsletter. We keep your email address together with the dates you signed up and confirmed. You are only subscribed once you click the confirmation link in the email we send.

Pressing game and review buttons. Use of the “Play free” and “Review” buttons is logged anonymously: which game, which page, device type, country and, where you arrived through one of our ad links and agreed to cookies, its campaign code. The IP address is consulted a single time to find the country, then thrown away. Clicks by our own administrators are excluded.

Server logs. To serve the site securely, our host processes ordinary request data: IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time.

  • Running the leaderboard, the daily bonus and your profile, as part of performing our agreement with you.
  • Replying to messages and sending the newsletter you requested, based on your consent, which you may withdraw whenever you like.
  • Learning which games and reviews people find useful and measuring our advertising, based on our legitimate interest in running the site, with advertising cookies set only if you consent.
  • Protecting the site and stopping abuse, based on legitimate interest.

We never sell personal information. Nothing we hold is used to assess your finances or your gambling behaviour.

Services that receive data

  • Our demo provider and the game studios. Pressing “Play free” opens the game inside a frame supplied by our demo game provider. That provider may set cookies of its own under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts. Google delivers our fonts and sees your IP address when a page is requested.
  • Hosting and email. The company that hosts us keeps the site running and sends our emails.
  • Ad measurement. When we advertise, a measurement pixel (Reddit’s, for example) loads only once you have accepted cookies. The cookie notice has the details.

Retention periods

  • Free profiles: kept until you delete the profile.
  • Messages sent to us: a maximum of 24 months.
  • Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days.
  • Records of button use: 13 months.

What you can ask us to do

You are entitled to request a copy of your information, have it corrected or erased, object to how it is used or withdraw your consent. Deleting your profile is something you can do yourself on your profile page. For any other request, pick “Privacy request” on the contact form, and we will respond within 30 days. UK residents may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Over-18s only

The site is meant for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly gather information from younger people. Let us know if you think a child has set up a profile, and we will remove it.

Updates to this notice

Before any change to how we use information takes effect, we will revise this notice and the date at the top.
