Who it is for, in one paragraph

Sweet Bonanza 2500 is aimed at players who already know the candy series and want more levers to pull. The 6×5 pay-anywhere grid, tumbling symbols and lollipop-triggered feature all return. The headline number is the candy bomb, which can now carry 2,500x during free spins. The overall ceiling, however, stays at 25,000x the bet, exactly where Sweet Bonanza 1000 left it. A bigger bomb does not lift the limit; it offers more routes towards it.

The change you will notice more is the stake menu: two ante levels, two Super Spins modes that put multipliers into the base game, and three feature buys, one of them a Super Free Spins round with a progressive total multiplier. The best RTP build is 96.52%, in line with the series, but 95.53% and 94.54% builds are also out there. Volatility is High, and the published feature rate is roughly once every 451 spins, so long quiet spells are built in.

Three generations of candy bombs

The quickest way to see what Pragmatic Play changed is to line the family up. The first Sweet Bonanza (2019) capped its bombs at 100x, starting from 2x, and its top award is widely quoted at 21,100x. Sweet Bonanza 1000 (2024) stretched the bombs to 2x through 1,000x and fixed the ceiling at 25,000x. Sweet Bonanza 2500 stretches the bombs once more, to 2x through 2,500x, while leaving the ceiling untouched.

The bomb scale is usually given as 16 values. The low end is finely spaced: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 6x, then 8x, 10x, 12x and 15x, then 20x and 25x. After that the steps become leaps: 50x, 100x, 500x, 1,000x and finally 2,500x. That last value sits above anything in Sweet Bonanza 1000. Pragmatic Play has not confirmed whether the rest of the scale matches the 1000 exactly, so this guide makes no claim either way.

Look at the shape. Nothing sits between 100x and 500x, or between 500x and 1,000x. Small values are tightly graded, the top four are far apart. The implication: the typical bomb is modest, and the huge ones exist to produce rare extreme outcomes rather than to lift a routine round.

Why a bigger bomb leaves the ceiling alone

Under the series rule, all bombs on the grid when a tumble chain ends are summed, and that sum multiplies the chain’s win. In Sweet Bonanza 1000, a lone 1,000x bomb needs a chain worth 25x the bet to touch the limit. In Sweet Bonanza 2500, a lone 2,500x bomb needs a chain worth just 10x. A larger top bomb lowers the base win required, but the limit is the same, and landing the top bomb is itself rare. The published odds of the maximum, 1 in 66,722,269, make that plain.

So the 2500 is not “two and a half times” the 1000. Both share a ceiling and almost the same best RTP (96.52% against 96.53%). What differs is how the long-run return is distributed: more of it sits in rare, enormous multiplier moments, which fits the High volatility rating both carry.

The base game on a 30-position grid

Six reels of five rows give 30 positions, with no lines. After each spin, every symbol type is counted, and any type showing eight or more times pays wherever its copies sit.

Each symbol pays in three bands: 8 or 9 copies, 10 or 11, and 12 and up. For 12 or more, the fruit set (apple, plum, watermelon, grapes, banana) are worth between 2x and 10x the bet, while the four candies are worth between 12x and 50x, with the red heart highest. At the lowest band, the full set runs from 0.25x to 10x. The in-game paytable lists every symbol at every band and scales with your stake.

When reading that paytable, go across the bands rather than down the symbols. Most of a symbol’s worth sits in the jump from the bottom band to 12+, and a dozen matching symbols on 30 positions is a tall order. Day to day, the bottom-band value is the one that counts, because that is where most wins fall. The 12+ value matters chiefly as the number a bomb might multiply.

A win triggers a tumble. Winners are cleared, symbols above slide down, and new ones drop into the gaps. If the refreshed grid contains another win, it pays and the process repeats, ending only when a drop produces nothing. One paid spin can therefore chain several wins together.

The quoted any-win rate, 1 in 2.33 or roughly 42.9%, includes every win, and a lot of those are worth less than the stake, particularly low-fruit wins in the bottom band. A frequent hit rate is not the same as a steady return.

In ordinary base play, bombs never appear. They belong to the feature unless a Super Spins mode is switched on, covered below.

The free spins sequence

  1. Getting in. Four or more lollipops anywhere on a base spin award 10 free spins. At standard stake, the published rate is 1 in 450.57 spins.
  2. Bombs arrive. On any free spin, bombs may land with a random value between 2x and 2,500x.
  3. They hold until the chain ends. Pragmatic Play states that multipliers remain on screen while tumbles continue, and are then summed and applied to that chain’s total win.
  4. They need a win. A bomb on a spin with no paying combination multiplies nothing, even a 2,500x one.
  5. Extra spins. Inside the round, a further three lollipops or more bring five extra spins. The published summary of the rules gives no limit on retriggers.

Point four drives the variance. The bomb and the win must turn up in the same chain, which is why big multiplier values appear far more often than big results.

Point three hides a detail worth spelling out. Bombs are added, not multiplied by each other, so 10x plus 20x equals 30x rather than 200x. Several mid-sized bombs in one chain can still reach a large total, but growth is linear. The 2,500x value alone outweighs every other step on the scale put together.

Picking a stake mode

The stake menu is the biggest structural shift from earlier games. Before, there was one ante that added 25% and doubled the feature chance. Here there are four alternatives to normal play. Prices are sometimes shown as bet levels measured against a standard 20x line instead of as multiples of the base stake; both describe the same costs. The table uses multiples of the base stake.

OptionPrice against a normal spinEffect
Standard1xThe regular game
Ante Bet 12.5xFeature chance roughly 8x higher
Ante Bet 212xFeature chance roughly 10x higher, and bombs in that feature start at 20x
Super Spins 120xEvery base spin carries a multiplier; the feature is locked out
Super Spins 2250xEvery base spin carries a multiplier worth 25x or above; the feature is locked out

Cost against boost

Beyond Ante 1, the price climbs faster than the trigger boost. Ante 2 costs nearly five times as much as Ante 1, yet lifts the boost only from about 8x to about 10x. The extra spend mainly buys the 20x bomb floor, which strips the small values out of the round.

Putting price and boost together is a useful check. Ante 1 multiplies the price by 2.5 and the trigger odds by roughly 8, so the cost per feature falls. Ante 2 multiplies the price by 12 but the odds by only about 10, so the cost per feature rises; what the player gets back is a better-equipped round, not extra rounds. That is simply a reading of the published prices and boosts, not a claim about which option pays back more.

Super Spins are a different game

Both Super Spins options turn free spins off and make every paid spin a base spin with a guaranteed bomb. Because a bomb only scales a win in its own chain, a spin with no paying combination still returns nothing, even with a 25x-plus bomb sitting on the grid. The guarantee covers the bomb showing up, not a payout.

Pragmatic Play has not released separate RTPs for each ante or Super Spins option in this game. If the build you load lists per-mode figures, they will be on its info screen.

Three buys, one with a growing meter

Where buys are enabled (launch coverage in the trade press said the special bets and buys are limited to certain markets), there are three tiers:

BuyPriceWhat you get
Free Spins100x the betA guaranteed trigger and the normal 10-spin round, bombs across the full 2x to 2,500x range
Super Free Spins 1500x the betThe same 10-spin round, with every multiplier at 20x or more
Super Free Spins 21,000x the betBombs start at 10x and a meter gathers every multiplier that lands

At launch, Super Free Spins 2 was described as having a progressive total multiplier that grows through the feature, with many accounts saying the meter’s closing value covers the whole round. The key contrast with Super Free Spins 1 is that the multiplier accumulates from spin to spin instead of clearing at the end of each chain.

This is the genuinely new mechanic in the family. Sweet Bonanza 1000 had just two buys, the 100x standard round and a 500x super version with 20x minimum bombs; nothing there matches the 1,000x tier.

A meter changes how to read a round. In the standard feature, a bomb on a non-paying spin is lost. With the meter, that same bomb still adds to the figure every subsequent win gets scaled by. Bombs that land early thus count for more in Super Free Spins 2 than in the other two buys, because they stay in play until the end.

Measured against the ceiling, the 1,000x buy spends 4% of the 25,000x maximum up front; the 100x buy spends 0.4%. The studio has not published RTPs for the three buys in this title, so no comparison of their long-run return is made here.

What 96.52% and High volatility mean

RTP describes an average over an enormous number of spins, not a prediction for a short session. A 96.52% build is designed to return 96.52 units per 100 staked over that long run. The 95.53% and 94.54% builds return roughly one and two units less per 100. All three look identical on screen; the difference lives in which build an operator chooses, so the info screen is the place to check if the figure matters to you.

Two published numbers show the High volatility clearly. A 42.9% any-win rate means frequent wins, but a feature rate of about 1 in 450 means the round holding most of the value is rare. Because so much of the return is held in free spins, and within them in big bomb totals, an ordinary short session lands below the RTP while the odd session lands far above it. Neither changes the next spin. Each one stands alone.

Routes to the 25,000x ceiling

Hitting the limit takes a large win and a large multiplier total in the same tumble chain, or a very large accumulated meter in Super Free Spins 2. Combinations consistent with the published rules include:

  • a chain worth 10x the bet meeting a single 2,500x bomb;
  • a chain worth 25x the bet with bombs summing to 1,000x;
  • a chain worth 50x the bet (top candy at 12 or more) with bombs summing to 500x.

Published odds put it at 1 in 66,722,269. That figure is a long-run design rate, not a counter that edges closer with each spin. The published rules summary does not say whether play stops the moment the limit is reached; the in-game rules screen will confirm it.

All three share the same trigger and retrigger rule: 10 spins for four or more scatters, five more for three or more inside the round. A 2500 feature therefore lasts about as long as its predecessors’, and every difference comes from what drops in while it runs. The newest pair sit only 0.01 percentage points apart at the top, their lower builds are close as well (95.52% against 95.53%, 94.51% against 94.54%), and their ceilings match.

What is genuinely new is the 2,500x bomb and the stake menu. Anyone who knows Sweet Bonanza 1000 already knows how the 2500 plays; the difference is in the extra decisions about stake mode and buy tier.

Strong points and weak points

Working for it

  • A single bomb worth 2,500x, the largest in the Sweet Bonanza games covered here.
  • More ante and buy choices than any other entry in the series, among them the new progressive Super Free Spins 2.
  • A best RTP of 96.52%, consistent with the rest of the family.
  • Published odds for hits, features and the ceiling make the volatility easy to read.

Working against it

  • The ceiling matches Sweet Bonanza 1000 at 25,000x, so the bigger bomb does not raise it.
  • Builds at 95.53% and 94.54% exist, and which one you meet varies.
  • The studio has not published RTPs for the individual antes, Super Spins or buys.

Who should look elsewhere

The game rewards players who like the series and want finer control over how they chase the feature, such as using Ante 1 for a trigger rate about eight times higher, or switching to Super Spins to get bombs outside the feature. Equally, it fits anyone who enjoys tracking rare, extreme multiplier moments and accepts the quiet periods that come with them.

It is a weaker match for a low-variance session. With a feature roughly once in 451 spins and much of the value tied up in large bomb totals, a virtual coin balance tends to slide between rounds. For a smaller multiplier range and fewer rules, the original Sweet Bonanza, with bombs from 2x to 100x, is the gentler choice within the same family.

Sweet Bonanza 2500 questions answered

Which RTP does Sweet Bonanza 2500 run at?

The top build is 96.52%. Pragmatic Play also supplies versions set to 95.53% and 94.54%.

How large can a single result get?

The ceiling is 25,000x the bet, and the published chance of hitting it is 1 in 66,722,269.

What starts the feature?

Four lollipop scatters or more, anywhere on the grid, give 10 free spins. Once it is running, any three lollipops or more extend it by five.

How big can a candy bomb be?

Up to 2,500x. Values climb from 2x through 1,000x to that top step. Every bomb still on screen when a tumble chain finishes is summed, and the total is applied to that chain’s win.

What changed from Sweet Bonanza 1000?

The top bomb grows from 1,000x to 2,500x, ante choices go from one to four, and a third buy is added: Super Free Spins 2, priced at 1,000x, whose multiplier keeps growing. Both games stop at 25,000x, and their best RTPs are 96.52% (2500) and 96.53% (1000).

Can free spins trigger in Super Spins mode?

No. Both Super Spins options, at 20x and 250x the stake, guarantee base game multipliers but switch off the free spins trigger.

How volatile is it?

It is rated High. Wins come on about 42.9% of spins, but the feature arrives only about once every 451 spins.

Does a run of spins make the feature due?

No. Spins are independent. The two antes do lift the trigger rate, but they do it by charging more for each spin.
