Ranking news

This section explains why games move in the Top 100 and our other ranked lists: what came in, what dropped, and which change in the data was behind it. A position is built from published game data, play activity recorded by SlotsLaunch, and the editorial part of the Spec Score, and every story says which of these shifted.

Reporting it this way keeps the rankings open to inspection. A game that climbs because more people played it is described that way; one that climbs because an editor finished testing and its editorial component could at last be scored is described that way instead. A game with no published return-to-player figure stays unscored and shows no score badge.

The lists refresh each month, with short notes in between if a significant data correction arrives. The complete method, covering the four score components and how each is weighted, sits on the How we rank page, and every ranking story links to it.
